FA Respect Programme
Respect is the FA's programme initiatives designed to remove unacceptable behaviour in our game at every level both on the pitch and from the sidelines.
The programme is the FA's response to pleas from grassroots football to tackle the ever increasing and unacceptable behaviour in football. The aim is to put fun and enjoyment back into football for players, especially the young players.
Coaches and Parents are increasingly pressurising young players by demanding 3 points from every game played and a win at all costs attitude. Many young players at 7, 8, 9 and 10 years old find the pressure too much to cope with and they give up football. It is these young players who are the future of a football club and as such they should be coached and treated correctly. The Respect programme is aimed at allowing young players to experience the enjoyment and fun of playing football.
The three leagues which the Junior Football Club is a member have adopted the Respect programme:-
Mid Lancashire Colts Junior Football League
Central Lancashire Junior Football League
Lancashire Sunday Football League
The leagues cover players aged 7 & 18 years and the guidelines relating to the Respect programme applies to all these players.
Everyone in football has a duty a duty of care towards junior and youth team players, ensuring they are able to play football in a safe, enjoyable environment free of abuse, bullying and discrimination.
Charnock Richard Junior Football Club supports the FA's Respect programme to ensure that football can be enjoyed by everyone in a safe and positive environment.
