3 well earned points!

Charnock Richard v Walmer Bridge (AWAY)

Team: Collins, Chopper, Schofield, GWhittle, Ramshaw, Shepherd, Taylor, McLoughlin, Sheehan, Leech, Kinloch.

Subs: Elston, Entwistle, JWhittle, Cross, Hamer.

KO 11 am

With 3 games of this season remaining the greens need to get back to winning ways if they are to have any chance of playing premiership football next season.

The greens start sharper with some good movement down the right.

Chopper has the crowd gasping as his speculative long range effort goes just over the bar.

Sheehan bursts through into the box but hits it wide in this low key first half. Both teams plugging away but can't produce any clear chances.

The game is getting a bit scrappy but with Charnock just edging it Kinloch races clear and hits a powerful shot straight at the keeper. The rebound falls to Leech but he scuffs it over the bar with goal wide open.

Hamer wins the ball on the left and plants a great cross for Kinloch who breaks the deadlock and claims his first goal since his return, right on H.T. 0-1(35)

The second half gets underway and the greens up the tempo with a more meaningful approach as Leech again bursts into the box but the bobbly pitch won't allow him to get his shot away cleanly.

Hamer is a constant threat. He breaks down the left again and the ball falls to Sheehan who volleys the ball as it comes over his shoulder straight past the keeper and into the net. Never mind Van Persie, this has got to be a definite candidate for goal of the season 0-2 (40).

That goal sends the travelling army of fans into celebrations as the points are safe.

WB are struggling to contain the greens now as they look for another goal. Motivated by the away fans, who have turned up in there thousands to cheer the lads on, the greens look for another chance from Kino.

Good work by Taylor who gets a shot away, but the keeper saves well. Elston getting stuck in and making some good tackles tries his luck from outside the area but his effort goes just wide.

Entwistle latches on to a ball on the right and cuts in, and with virtually his first touch smashes it past the keeper 0-3 (63), and with the last kick of the game Elston again goes close.

A massively improved performance from last week and the lads more clinical in front of goal, great passing and movement shown today and a desire to win the ball, a great team and management effort and all should be pleased with the result.

Today's bottle of bollinger goes to McLoughlin. Well done.
