An entertaining but tough encounter....

Charnock Richard v AC Preston (HOME)

Charnock Richard v AC Preston. Kick off 2 pm.

COLLINS, CROSS, SCHOFIELD, WHITTLE, SHEEHAN, ELSTON, SHEPHERD, ENTWISTLE, TAYLOR, CHOPPER, KINLOCH, sub JWHITTLE

Welcome to another league fixture at the Nou Pitch. Today we entertain the league leaders AC Preston on this freezing cold March afternoon.

Charnock start well with some good movement and are asking all the questions in the early stages, but its AC who take the lead after a quick break down the left and the striker manages to squeeze it past COLLINS 0-1.

The greens hit back within 2 minutes as SHEEHAN hits a screamer past the keeper 1-1.

Both teams are having a go and its end to end in this top of the league clash. Charnock pushing for a second goal but have to be wary of ACs firepower up front.

SCHOFIELD makes some crucial challenges, as well as a spectacular goal line clearence.

ELSTON getting involved with some excellent passes to ENTWISTLE. TAYLOR is also making life difficult for ACs midfielders.

ENTWISTLE rattles the bar after great work down the left..

Second half and again Charnock go for it with some great football but again the league leaders hit them on the break and make it 1-2.

Within minutes Charnock find themselves 1-3 down as they fail to clear the lines. AC begin to show their dominance as they go 1-4 up after some poor defending again.

Charnock struggling to get out their own half but the team still trying hard. The frozen home support are doing their icy best to spur the team on but it gets worse for the greens as AC get two goals in quick sucession 1-6, and just before the full time whistle they get goal number 7 to complete this mothers day disaster FT 1-7.

A game to forget this one as the league leaders extend their unbeaten run and demolish the home side. On a positive the lads as ever kept going and showed grit and determination. One player stood out today and made the Man of the Match Award simple, this weeks bottle of bubbles goes to the defensive giant SCHOFIELD, well done!

Match report by G Elston.
